> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.smartsend.io/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Pickup points > Enable customers to choose pickup locations during checkout Pickup points allow customers to select their preferred pickup location during checkout, providing flexibility and convenience for package delivery. ## How pickup points work When enabled, customers can: * **Browse nearby pickup points** during checkout * **Select their preferred location** from available options * **See pickup point details** including address and hours * **Complete their order** with the chosen pickup point ## Pickup point options You have two configuration options for pickup points: ### Select pickup point * **Customer choice**: Customers can choose their preferred pickup location * **Interactive selection**: Browse and select from available locations * **Best for**: Customers who want control over pickup location ### Closest pickup point * **Automatic selection**: The pickup point is chosen by the carrier when booking the label * **No customer interaction**: System automatically selects the nearest location * **Best for**: Simplified checkout process ## Configuration example Here's how to set up pickup points with PostNord: PostNord pickup point configuration example ### Configuration details * **Service type**: Select pickup point (PostNord) * **Weight-based pricing**: Shipping cost increases with total weight * **Free shipping threshold**: Orders above 500 get free shipping * **Carrier integration**: Connected to PostNord's pickup point network ## Customer experience When customers reach checkout with pickup points enabled: 1. **Select shipping method** that includes pickup points 2. **Browse available locations** near their address 3. **Choose preferred pickup point** from the list 4. **Complete order** with pickup point details included ## Pickup point information Each pickup point displays: * **Location name** and address * **Operating hours** and availability * **Distance** from customer's address * **Contact information** for the location ## Integration with shipping methods Pickup points work with your existing shipping method configuration: * **Weight-based pricing** - Cost varies with package weight * **Free shipping thresholds** - Automatic free shipping for qualifying orders * **Geographic restrictions** - Only show pickup points in supported areas * **Carrier-specific options** - Different carriers offer different pickup networks ## Best practices ### For select pickup points * **Clear labeling** - Make it obvious customers can choose their location * **Sufficient options** - Ensure multiple pickup points are available * **Mobile optimization** - Ensure pickup point selection works on mobile devices ### For closest pickup point * **Clear communication** - Let customers know the location will be chosen automatically * **Delivery confirmation** - Provide pickup point details after order completion * **Customer support** - Be ready to help with pickup point questions ## Troubleshooting ### Pickup points not showing * **Check carrier connection** - Ensure your carrier is properly connected * **Verify shipping zone** - Confirm pickup points are enabled for the correct zones * **Test with different addresses** - Some areas might not have pickup points available ### Limited pickup point options * **Check carrier coverage** - Verify the carrier has pickup points in the customer's area * **Review shipping method settings** - Ensure pickup points are properly configured * **Contact carrier support** - Some areas might have limited pickup point coverage ## Next steps After setting up pickup points: 1.
