PostNord is the result of the merger between the Swedish postal service (Posten AB) and the Danish postal service (Post Danmark A/S) in 2009. While they operate under one brand, there are significant differences between shipping from Denmark and shipping from Sweden with PostNord.
As of January 1st, 2026, PostNord Denmark has stopped serving letter post in Denmark. Letter post services in Denmark are now handled by DAO going forward.

General information

PostNord provides comprehensive parcel services for businesses with a customer agreement. All services listed below are available to senders with an active PostNord business account. Scope:
  • Sender: Business with customer agreement
  • Recipient: Private individuals or businesses
  • Geography: Denmark, Sweden, Nordic countries, and international (where applicable)
  • Excludes: Consumer-to-consumer and private sender products

  • Electronic data interchange (EDI) required for all shipments

  • Notifications via PostNord app, SMS, and email
  • Various delivery modes: pickup, home delivery, and business address

Shipping from Denmark

Package will be delivery to a PostNord parcel locker where the recipient collects the parcel.
Parcel lockers require the receiver to use the PostNord mobile app to unlock the parcel locker
  • Destinations: The Nordic countries
  • Delivery time: Next-day delivery Monday to Saturday for domestic parcels in Denmark.
  • Notification: PostNord app, SMS, email
  • Pickup deadline: 7 days
  • Signature: No
  • Max weight: 10 kg (Denmark), 20 kg (Finland)
  • Max dimensions: 42 × 49 × 60 cm
  • Special requirements: Requires PostNord app for locker access
  • Redirection: Parcel is redirected to another pickup point if the locker is full
Package will be delivery to a staffed PostNord Parcel Shop for customer pickup.

Addons are extra services that can be enabled - often at an extra cost. Availability depends on service and route.

As a private receiver then it is possible to signup for Recipient Flex (In Danish ModtagerFlex) which grants PostNord permission to leave parcels unattended at a greed upon location like the frontdoor or the garage.The courier takes a photo of the parcel and its placement, which you the receiver can view instantly in the PostNord mobile app (if the user has verified with MitID).

Shipping from Sweden

PostNord Sweden offers similar services to Denmark with some variations in availability and specifications.

Special geographic considerations

Islands, Faroe Islands, and Greenland

Shipping to remote locations requires special consideration:
  • Delivery frequency: Not all destinations have daily delivery service
  • Greenland specifics:
    • Parcels may be transported by air if sea transport is unavailable
    • Air transport may trigger additional surcharges
    • Significantly longer delivery times must be expected
  • Island destinations: Extended delivery times and potential access limitations
  • Planning: Allow extra time for deliveries to remote areas
